SUNSET TOURS

Watch the Sunset on Mt Etna from an altitude of 2800m. 

Daily departures from 6:30pm at Piano Provenzana with off-road vehicles towards an altitude of 2800m.

Surrounded by the amazing landscape at the base of the North- East Crater, we go for a short trek up to the panoramic point known as Pizzi Dineri. Here we feast our eyes with the magical sunset, the breathtaking views of Sicily, the Aeolian Islands, and the outstanding view of the constant active craters.

We return to the vehicles on foot (less than 1km) so we go back to base to Piano Provenzana. (Visibility varies according to weather conditions)

Read before you book:

  • Trekking doesn’t require great preparations on a physical level; it consists of a simple walk without extremely difficult walkways. Nevertheless you have to be prepared to walk on sandy volcanic soil and inconsistent lose ground.
  • The excursion could be subjected to variations at the discretion of guides, or could be interrupted in case of changes of environmental, climatic or volcanic conditions that could undermine the safety of the entire group. 
  • The total time of the trekking trail will depend on the general pace of the group. 
  • The excursion will be carried out according to the limits laid down by the governing body. 
  • The route is suitable also for children over 3 years old. 
  • The route consist of the ascent and the walking along the crater’s edges, this may cause dizziness to susceptible individuals. 
  • This type of itinerary is suited to people in good physical health, not suffering from particular diseases (cardio-vascular and breathing issues or hypertension). 
  • Pregnant women who have passed the third month of pregnancy are not allowed to take part to any excursion.
